About Greenacre Community Hall
Our Story
Located on New Road Side, the hall was originally built as a Drill Hall post 1918 with the land being part of the Benton Park estate. During World War II it was used by the Army. Soldiers were billeted in huts on land to the rear of the hall. In the 1950s it was a base for the Territorial Army and used by the community as a dance hall with a stage in the main hall. It has also been a nursery. Greenacre Hall is now a community facility.

The Hall was recently taken over by a new committee and we have been working hard to make it a valuable community asset once again.
